Forest Fuels joined DIY SOS Party to welcome Matthew home

9 days of frenetic activity came to a close. Forest Fuels joined all of the other trades and suppliers who helped to transform the home for young Matthew and parents Sue and Leigh Cooper in Trench, Telford.

The sun was out to greet everyone as the Forest Fuels team landed. Pictured below, Bob Osborne, Transport Manager and Ben Goh, Regional Manager arrive.

Ben Goh, said, “The atmosphere and community spirit was outstanding, the street was filled with people all with the same warm welcome for Matthew”.

It all started with an appeal from Matthew’s school Wrockwardine Wood Junior where head teacher Julie Henry launched fund raising and organised her pupils to apply to DIY SOS. As well as raising a huge amount of money and support locally it also meant that the campaign to recruit further help with products and trades was destined to hit the ground running.

The revealing of the full glory of the house transformation is to remain secret until the show is screened sometime in the coming months but the scenes outside the house when the family emerged to say thank you were, as you might have expected, highly emotional.

Pictured here, the trades and suppliers prepared for the welcome home.

Forest Fuels supplied and delivered premium grade wood chip, which was used to put the finishing touch to all of the bordered areas and planted beds in the new garden.

Matthew and his parents Leigh and Sue Cooper were completely overwhelmed by the efforts and contributions of everyone involved and Matthew had his own very special thank you which you’ll have to wait to see.

Below Forest Fuels Marketing and Communications Manager Dave Myatt gave Billy Byrne his own special thank-you, a Forest Fuels hat. Billy said, “Thanks very much, that’s perfect for when I play golf!”
